Stadium Rolls Over Thunderbirds
Twelve Stadium hitters came to the plate in the bottom of the first – as seven would score – and when the smoke had cleared at the end of four-and-a-half innings, the Tigers would come away with a 22-0 win over Mount Tahoma on March 26.
First baseman Jake Vieth would lead the Tigers’ attack, going 2-for-2 with a walk, a home run, and three runs batted in on the afternoon. Mount Tahoma could only muster one hit in the four and a half inning game that saw Stadium coach Chuck Peterson hold his players on the base paths to 90 feet at a time.
As Thunderbird coach Victor Rodriquez kept searching for some offense for most of the afternoon, Stadium compiled the 22 runs with seven in the first inning, 10 in the second, and five in the third.
With the win Stadium improves to 2-1 in the Narrows 4A, 2-2 overall and will travel to Curtis for a non-league matchup on March 30 at 4 p.m. Mt. Tahoma, meanwhile, hosts Bellarmine on April 2 at 4 p.m.
