Published in the Tacoma Weekly Tuesday, 20 November 2012

After winning the regional tournament the prior weekend in California, Puget Sound was topped by the top team in the nation, Calvin, in the quarterfinals on Nov. 15 in Holland, Mich.
The Loggers fell 22-25, 25-23, 15-25, 10-25, as Marissa Florant and Jackie Harvey had 10 kills apiece and Jenni Brehove tallied 38 assists and 10 digs. Christina Chun led the defensive effort with a team-high 16 digs and Nicolette Reynaud had seven blocks, but Division III player of the year Lizzie Kamp led Calvin to victory with 18 kills and 14 digs.
With no seniors on this year’s squad, the Loggers will return every player from a squad that finished 22-6 overall, with a 13-3 mark in the Northwest Conference as they finished second to Pacific Lutheran.
