Curtis' trademark defense rattled Emerald Ridge from the start, as the Vikings cruised to a 67-40 win over the Jaguars to earn the seventh seed into the 4A state regionals.
The Vikings shot out to an 11-1 lead on Jason Williams' layup after a steal by Darrin Gethers three minutes into the game. The Jaguars committed seven turnovers in the first three minutes, and finished with 21 turnovers.
The lead kept growing in the second quarter, as Tory Causey's three-pointer with three minutes until the break made it 31-4. Curtis was 16-for-26 from the field in the first half, while Emerald Ridge made just 3 of 18 attempts.
Aushanti Potts-Woods led Curtis with 13 points, while Causey and Marcus Stephens scored 12 points apiece and Williams added 10 points for the Vikings. Marcus Harris led Emerald Ridge with 20 points.
