Size matters at Dinky Dogs Daycare

Dinky Dogs Daycare (3017 Bridgeport Way W. in University Place) is the only facility in the area designed just for little dogs to enjoy a day of play with other dogs their own size. With more than 1,200 sq. ft. of play space in a home-like facility, your little buddy will have a grand time frolicking with other petit pups on clean and safe rubber flooring with toys just their size. They can enjoy the ball room, nap room, and the open play room where the fun runs wild!

When it’s time for some fresh air and sun-soaking, a game of fetch, or a potty break, Dinky Dogs Daycare has more than 1,000 sq. ft. of fully fenced yard to enjoy. Rest assured that when the weather is crummy outside, your little one will be dry and warm inside.

Morgan Money is owner and den mother at Dinky Dogs Daycare. “In 2004, I moved to Washington to be closer to family and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Since moving here I have enjoyed becoming ‘Auntie Morgan’ to countless dogs in the area through my line of work,” she said. Her experience includes managing a successful dog daycare in Tacoma for more than five years where she saw the numerous rewards daycare can offer dogs and their “parents.”

“I have also seen first hand that dogs tend to have the most fun when playing with dogs similar in size and energy level. That’s why I decided to open Dinky Dogs Daycare - to provide small dogs with a safe, loving and stimulating environment where they can have BIG fun.”

At Dinky Dogs Daycare your dog will make new doggy friends and receive constant love and attention - a win-win for you and your dog. Taking your dog to daycare on a regular basis helps alleviate unwanted behaviors such as chewing, digging, barking and separation anxiety. Dinky Dog benefits include building social confidence and having a safe, fun, stimulating outlet to burn energy.

Benefits to parents are numerous as well. Dinky Dogs Daycare provides you with a guilt free alternative to leaving your dog alone all day while you are away. You will have peace of mind that your dinky dog is in a safe environment playing with dogs their own size. No need to worry about your Shih Tzu being trampled by a Great Dane. After your long day you will pick up a tired and happy dog ready to relax and enjoy the evening with you.

Pups new to Dinky Dogs must complete a one time Meet and Greet to ensure that he or she is a good fit with the other pack members. Meet and Greets are scheduled in advance Monday through Friday and require you to leave your pal at Dinky Dogs for a minimum of four hours. This gives plenty of time to introduce your doggie to the pack at the speed he or she is comfortable with. This also gives Morgan and her helpers time to know their personalities - how they like to play, favorite petting spots, etc.

Dinky Dogs Daycare accepts healthy and friendly dogs that weigh 30 pounds or less, are at least 16 weeks old and spayed/neutered by 6 months of age. In addition to being flea free, all pack members must have an annual negative fecal test; for new clients, the fecal test must be conducted within the last 90 days prior to the meet and greet. All of the little ones at Dinky Dogs must be current on vaccinations: DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirus), bordetella and rabies. Just bring your dog’s vaccine/fecal records along with your completed enrollment/release forms to your Meet and Greet appointment.
