Tacoma’s newest sports bar is working overtime to bring patrons one of the most diverse, high-quality bar menus and beverages – all at a fair price. Not only does this 6th Avenue bar feature some of the district’s most reasonable prices, but Overtime’s majority owner Chuck Bayha sees to it that the business donates 10 percent of its profits to the Special Olympics.

As a longtime restaurateur, Bayha has developed a wealth of experience and knows firsthand the importance of giving back to the community. “Business owners often forget how important it is to give back,” he said. “But, you can’t expect to be helped unless you help others.”

Overtime’s opening night celebration served as a fundraiser for the Special Olympics, and ultimately raised a significant amount of money in a single night. “We’ve worked with them for a long time, and it’s a great cause to support,” Bayha said.

Bayha has worked with Silver Dollar Casinos, Hooters of Washington, Paddy Coyne’s and more, and puts this experience to good use at Overtime, where he created what he calls one of the best teams of employees out there. “Our service staff is either hand picked, or trained very rigorously,” he said. “We also have one of the best bartenders in the city, and our clientele appreciates that.”

Overtime’s menu features upscale bar food and daily specials ranging from dollar sliders on Mondays, to $2 tacos on Thursdays and prime rib specials on Fridays and Saturdays. All French fries are cut in-house, and homemade potato chips have already become a favorite. Top that off with a two-a-day happy hour schedule, from 3-6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., along with a full pull-tab bar – and it’s no wonder Overtime is quickly becoming a fan favorite.

Overtime is located at 3118 6th Avenue, open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
