Celebrate the beginning of a new school year with the friendly faces of Mothers of Zion and Servanthood Ministries Revival Center, during an event to benefit local students and families. The End of Summer Blaze takes place Aug. 25 from 5-8 p.m. in the Save-a-lot parking lot, located at 1105 S. MLK Way. The event is geared to all ages, and attendees will enjoy live music, food, entertainment and more.

“This event will be a lot of fun, and we hope it gives our youth a better outlook on life,” said organizer Orealia McClean. “I want them to understand that they’re not alone, and that we care about them.”

Organizers will raffle off backpacks full of school supplies and other prizes.

McClean hopes the community will come out to celebrate, enjoy some good music, food and entertainment.

“I want these students to know that people care about them, and that there is help available,” McClean said. “They don’t need to resort to drugs or gangs. We’re there for them.”
