Washington Healthplanfinder Mobile Enrollment Tour at Tacoma Mall Saturday

Help is on the way for Tacomans signing up for insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act, often called Obamacare.

The Washington Healthplanfinder mobile tour will be at the Tacoma Mall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2. Look for a specially outfitted trailer in the east parking lot, facing Sears and JCPenney.

Trained enrollment experts from the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and their community partners will be ready to help people sign up for coverage.

Dubbed “In-Person Assisters,” they can help people without health insurance understand the new health plans. They also can connect people to financial assistance for which they might be eligible.

The trailer is equipped with computers, and the In-Person Assisters can help people sign up for health coverage on the spot and well before the deadline.

Individuals making up to $46,000 and families of four making up to $94,000 a year are eligible for financial help to lower the costs of their coverage. Free and low-cost plans also are available.
