Local Restaurants: Triple Play hits it out of the park

Now that football season is finally here, the hunt for the best game day viewing location is on. And with its giant projection screen and homey ambiance, Triple Play is a great option for any sports fan. The new kid on the Sixth Avenue block opened in June, and offers everything a good sports bar should – darts, pool, multiple television viewing areas, high-quality bar food and regular specials.

Chef Dawn Adams is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College in Seattle, and brings her own brand of elevated bar food to the menu. She makes homemade batter, taco seasoning and more. During the pre-game show, Triple Play offers half priced food, and various drink specials during the game.

Triple Play’s owners, Rich Langhorn and husband-and-wife team Kim and Kevin Brown, hope to offer an environment where sports fans feel at home. The oversized couches and a variety of seating options provide a low-key, comfortable environment.

Happy hour takes place every day from 4-7 p.m., and owners are also in the process of developing a loyalty program where diners receive points and discounts for future visits.

Triple Play is now open for breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. With Karaoke every Thursday starting at 9 p.m. and open mic on Wednesday nights, there is plenty going on throughout the week at Triple Play. The restaurant’s private karaoke room, which fits about 12 people comfortably, can also be reserved for game day viewing parties, as well.

“We hope to get to know our customers and make Triple Play feel like home to them,” said Kim Brown.
