Be Well – Chef Anna Cooks!

// Personal Chef Anna Wagner offers customized menus that meet budget, diet requirements

As the holidays quickly approach, calendars fill up with parties, fundraisers, shopping excursions, family get-togethers and more. Everyday life gets hectic, making downtime even harder to come by than usual. But with Chef Anna Wagner and her personal chef services, weekly cooking can be removed from the to-do list, and for not much more than the cost of the food alone. Chef Anna cooks an entire week’s worth of meals for clients, tailoring her services to fit their budget and dietary requirements.

A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu culinary institute in Seattle, Wagner creates customized menus for clients based on their needs and preferences. She does all the grocery shopping, cooking and packaging of each meal, leaving leftovers for the remainder of the week. Wagner brings everything she needs to prepare the meal, including pots, pans, tools and spices.

“Every meal is completely customized to what the client wants,” she said. “I work within their restrictions, and I’ve got a great library of recipes I can pull from.”

Many recipes are her original concoctions, and others are tried-and-true personal chef favorites.

The cost of the services vary depending on the client’s specific needs, but a family of three can enjoy Chef Anna’s services for $150 per week, not including the cost of groceries. Each flat fee includes a week’s worth of meals, including five entrees and side dishes.

Meals are specially prepared to ensure they last throughout the week through reheating without losing any flavor. And according to Wagner, there is a science behind delivering on this promise. “With experience, I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t,” she said. “There is a certain way to cook these dishes to get a certain flavor profile that stores well.”

Many of her current clients are busy professionals with little time to cook healthy meals, large families with big to-do lists and those who simply find themselves a bit lost in the kitchen. For that hard-to-buy-for person in your life, gift certificates are now available online at
