Local Restaurant Spotlight: A dining guide to New Year’s Eve

With New Year’s Eve quickly approaching, here is a roundup of ways to start the night off right. Some of Tacoma’s top restaurants are offering plenty of entertainment throughout the evening. Here are a few of our favorites:

Pacific Grill

Enjoy a heavy appetizer buffet, cash bar, complimentary champagne toast and the smooth sounds of Chris Anderson throughout the night. Cocktail hour begins at 8:30 p.m., and entertainment takes place from 9:30 p.m. to midnight. The event takes place at the new Allenmore Events Center, located at 2013 S. Cedar St. Special bonus: For those looking to make a night of it, special New Year’s Eve room rates are available for Chris Anderson show attendees: $129 for regular rooms, and $189 for King Suites at the Courtyard Marriott downtown.

The Cliff House

This iconic restaurant overlooking Commencement Bay is offering a four course dinner, live music and dancing, along with a midnight toast and party favors. Seating for the four-course dinner starts at 8:30 p.m., and the restaurant will also be taking reservations for the regular menu from 3-7 p.m. in the upstairs dining room.

The Harmon

From 9 p.m. to midnight, The Harmon Brewery & Eatery is offering free live music by Rich Wetzel’s Groovin’ Higher Jazz Orchestra. This family friendly event is sure to be a night to remember thanks to the sounds of this exciting, high-energy big band jazz musicians. The Harmon is located at 1938 Pacific Ave S. Info:

New Year’s Eve Comedy Night

Comedians Marc Yaffee and headliner Susan Jones will keep the crowds entertained at the Liberty Theater starting at 7:30 p.m. For $65 per person ($120/couple), attendees will enjoy a gourmet buffet dinner and dessert by Gallucci’s Catering, a champagne toast at midnight, party favors and a cash bar.
