Work on Meridian railroad crossing to close street in Puyallup

City of Puyallup and Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railway are working to rehabilitate three railroad crossings during the next few months, and road closures will be required to complete the construction.

The restoration project will begin with the crossing at Meridian on the weekend of April 12. Meridian will be closed for construction to all vehicular traffic beginning on April 12 at 5:30 p.m. and will re-open on the morning of April 15 at 7 a.m. The roadway will be open during the span of the Spring Fair, which starts April 18.

The rehabilitation process will involve removal of the asphalt crossing approaches and replacing them with specialized concrete. This will provide a more durable crossing surface with better access for BNSF track maintenance.
