Vigil planned for Susan Cox Powell, boys

There will be a candlelight vigil as well as a candle and flower float in the pond in the memory of Susan Cox Powell and her sons at 5:30 p.m. today at McKinley Park, across the freeway from the Tacoma Dome, 907 Upper Park Street.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

Eastside Neighborhood Advisory Council of Tacoma is hosting the vigil celebrating the lives of Susan, Charlie, and Braden. Participants can light a candle and float it across the pond in their memory.

Susan disappeared from their home in Utah two years ago. Her husband, Josh Powell was a person of interest in the case.

He was on a visitation with his sons on Sunday, when his Graham house exploded into flames. He and his sons were found dead inside. Police believe Josh Powell set the fire after apparently locking out the social worker assigned to supervise the visit.
