Hilltop party house, the Dwell Hole, has turned into one of the hippest places in Tacoma for catching regional rockers in action. And I had to drop by Friday night with Mahnhammer tuning up there for their big St. Patrick’s Day gig at Doyle’s Public House and debuting new guitarist Mike Crum, of Mico de Noche, to boot.
The good news is that I had my trusty pocket HD video cam on person. The bad news is that said video cam doesn't do well in dark basements. Plus, my batteries died towards the end of opening band Mosquito Hawk’s set.
Still, you can get the gist of this Olympia indie super-group, which features members of C-Average, Fitz of Depression and Rodeo Kill. They kicked out heavy, head-bangin’ jams for most of their set before showing off their wistful, dreamy with the Beatles.
