UW Tacoma invites the community to celebrate Latino Heritage Week

The following invitation was sent out today from Indira Trejo, President of the Latino Student Union at University of Washington-Tacoma:

Attention students, faculty, staff and community,

The Latino Student Union cordially invites you to join the celebration of our culture and learn about our community's issues during our upcoming Latino Heritage Week.
•    Monday, April 29, we will host a roundtable discussion with the topic “What is Latino or Hispanic?” from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the GWP Tacoma Room 320.
•    Tuesday, April 30, we will celebrate Children’s Day with Mexican wrestlers "Lucha Libre Volcanica" in William Phillip Hall from 12:30-1:30 p-m.  Bring your family and enjoy a wrestling match!
•    Wednesday, May 1, meet us outdoors in Commerce Plaza from 12:30-1:30 p.m. for the Latino Heritage Fair, where you will enjoy live mariachi music, free Mexican food sponsored by El Toro Mexican Restaurant, a lowrider show and information tables with representatives from various Latino community organizations.  Show your support for federal immigration reform by wearing a white T-shirt and participating in our chalk talk.
We hope to see you there!
