Tacoma’s Rocket Records forced to move

Tacoma's Rocket Records will have to move. Owner Steve Gaydich said he was given until April 30 to vacate his current location, 3843 Sixth Ave., to make way for the expansion of a mixed martial arts studio next door. Gaydich said he is touring another potential location down the street this morning.

Rocket Records is one of the few places left in Tacoma for buying and trading used CDs and finding new music from local bands. The shop is also known for hosting free, all-ages rock shows, with the latest – headlined by popular Tacoma power trio, Big Wheel Stunt Show – set for 3 p.m. on April 6.
