Fire Incidents 3/29-3/31 Posted: 01 Apr 2013 09:24 AM PDT Date: 3/29/13 Time: 5:08 a.m. Address: 465 E.15th St. Response: Station 2 Damage Estimate: Minor Narrative: Arrived to find two large foundry castings that had been placed on a wood pallet during the manufacturing process had caught the pallet on fire. There was light smoke in the building, but the fire spread was limited to the pallet. With the assistance of plant personnel, a fork lift was used to move the castings to a proper metal pallet, and the smoldering wood pallet was removed and extinguished.

Steele St. Response: Station 7,8 Damage Estimate: Undetermined Narrative: Crews extinguished a fire in a pile of cardboard that was being stored inside a garbage dumpster enclosure. There was light charring to the wood siding exposed to the fire and crews were unable to determine what started it.

Date: 3/30/13 Time: 10:55 p.m. Address: 3219 49th Ave NE Response: Station 1,2,3,8,12 Damage Estimate: $236 Narrative: Firefighters responded to a reported fire in a four-plex apartment building. The first arriving company extinguished a small fire in an upstairs storage facility. Upon further investigation, the fire appeared to originate from a folded canvas painters tarp, and then spread to a cardboard box beneath it.

Date: 3/31/13 Time: 1:37 p.m. Address: 5830 S. Pine St. Response: Station 7 Damage Estimate: None Narrative: Crews extinguished a small fire of common combustibles in a school playground. There were no suspects present and the incident was referred to TPD who was on-scene for follow-up.

Response: Station 11 Damage Estimate: $2,500 Narrative: Firefighters extinguished a fire in a motor vehicle (car).
