Sounder north and south line trains will serve fairgoers two Saturdays this month; free shuttle service between Puyallup Station and the fairgrounds
Sound Transit’s popular Sounder event trains will serve people attending the Washington State Fair on Sept. 14 and 21, making it easy for north and south sound residents to “Do the Puyallup!” and avoid gas and parking costs. Free shuttle service between Puyallup Station and the fairgrounds will also be provided.
A total of six Sounder trains will operate between Lakewood and Puyallup, with the first leaving Lakewood Station at 9 a.m. The last train from Lakewood departs at 8:50 p.m. The first train from Puyallup to Lakewood leaves at 11:05 a.m. The last southbound train leaves Puyallup Station at 9:25 p.m.
A train from Everett will leave at noon for King Street Station, where riders will transfer to a second southbound train for Puyallup. Two additional trains to Puyallup from King Street Station will leave at 10:25 a.m. and 7:25 p.m. The return train to Everett leaves Puyallup Station at 6:26 p.m. Snohomish County passengers will need to transfer to a second northbound train at the King Street Station. Two additional trains to Seattle leave Puyallup at 9:26 a.m. and 12:16 p.m. The transfers at King Street Station are free when riders purchase special event train tickets or use their ORCA cards.
Riders can buy their train tickets from ticket vending machines at any Sounder station. Fairgoers should select “Puyallup” as the destination. Regular fares apply.
