Rowdy rocker Andrew W.K. has been announced as the opener for Black Sabbath's forthcoming tour, which kicks off in the Lone Star State on July 25 and includes an Aug. 24 stop at the Gorge Amphitheatre near Quincy.
The amiable "Party Hard" and "I Get Wet" singer released a statement through his fan site: He's “shocked,” “dream come true” - yadda yadda, stuff you'd expect. But seriously, you might get a kick out of surfing over there to see what he did with Sabbath's infamously cropped promo pic.

The announcement comes in the wake of iconic Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne's tour teleconference, which Tacoma Weekly took part in yesterday. Click here to find out what Ozzy said about estranged band mate Bill Ward.
