Museum of Glass offers Glass Connoisseurship Certificate Program

Museum of Glass will offer the first ever Glass Connoisseurship Certificate Program in partnership with University of Washington Tacoma from Wednesday, May 16 through Sunday, May 19. In conjunction with the new exhibition “Links: Australian Glass and the Pacific Northwest,” this unique opportunity will allow participants an immersive experience in the world of glass art.
The four-day experience will include: private studio tours of two of the Pacific Northwest’s premiere glass artists, Dale Chihuly and Dante Marioni; opportunities to engage in academic discussions with scholars specializing in glass art including MOG curator David Francis, Links curator Vicki Halper and former curator of modern glass at Corning Museum of Glass William Warmus; and the opportunity to talk with artists Nadège Desgenétez, Jeremy Lepisto, Dante Marioni, Richard Marquis, Klaus Moje, Nick Mount, Richard Whiteley and the MOG Hot
Shop Team: Ben Cobb, Gabe Feenan, Sarah Gilbert and Niko Dimitrijevic. In addition, participants will get hands-on experiences in glass fusing, flameworking and glassblowing.
The Glass Connoisseurship Certificate Program is limited to 20 students and application materials are due no later than April 30. Tuition is $2,200/per person and includes housing, transportation and meals. For additional information and questions, please contact Elisabeth Emerson at (253) 284-4713.
