Thinking about ringing in the summer season at the the ever-popular 109-acre marine and camping park with 5,600 feet of beaches?
Kopachuck State Park campground has officially been closed due to forest health issues and visitor safety concerns.
The emergency closure occured just four days before the busy Memorial Day weekend at the destination park five miles west of Gig Harbor.
The campground will remain closed until assessments can be completed and any necessary corrective action is taken. The day-use area, including the beach access, will remain open. Check for updatesat www.parks.wa.gov.
