Madonna has highest grossing tour of 2012

When it came to touring last year, no one raked in ducats quite like Madonna. The Material Cougar topped Pollstar's year end list of highest grossing tours after taking in $296.1 million on the road in 2012, with tickets averaging $140.38 a pop. In a related matter, I think we have a new slogan for former New York gubernatorial candidate Jimmy McMillan: “The concerts are too damn high! Breakfast, lunch and dinner!”

Here's the top 10 tours, and you can see the top 50 on the Pollstar site here.

  1. Madonna: $296.1 million ($140.38 average ticket)
