Lincoln High School turns 100 - Celebration begins Aug. 5

Baseball, comedy, street fair, car show and an open house are all part of Lincoln High School’s 100th birthday celebration. The series of events, from Aug. 5 to Sept. 14, are open to Lincoln students, staff, alumni and the Tacoma community. Donations are accepted at all events and will go toward the Lincoln High School Scholarship Fund.
Aug. 5
 Lincoln Night Out at Tacoma Rainiers
Stadium - tour: 6 p.m., game: 7 p.m., Cheney Stadium - tickets: $15 (reserved seating, hot dog, chips, soft drink)
Aug. 8 
Lincoln Night Out at Tacoma Comedy Club - 
Doors open: 7 p.m.; show: 8 p.m., 933 Market St. - tTickets: $15 (limited number available)
 - Must be 18 or older

Aug. 10 
Summerfest Honoring Lincoln High School - 
2-9 p.m., Eighth & A streets (downtown Tacoma), 
Free; VIP bracelets: $25; 
Live music, vendors and special offers at various downtown establishments
Aug. 11 
Open House and Car Show
 - 10 2 p.m., Lincoln High School
 - Ceremony: 10:30 a.m.; tours: 11:15 a.m.; lunch: noon; 
Ceremony includes speakers, honoring of scholarship recipients and fallen Abe heroes and slide show 
Barbecue lunch and birthday cake, $5
Sept. 14 
Turkey Bowl Game: Lincoln vs. Stadium - 
Tailgate: 10:30 a.m.; game: 1 p.m., Lincoln Bowl
