Tacoma City Councilman Anders Ibsen announced to the City Council that he is back in the City of Destiny and will return to the Council on Feb. 11.
Ibsen had left the council in December to receive officer training from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for about a year. Joe Lopez was appointed to fill his position during his absence. Ibsen left Jan. 6 and returned to Tacoma for medical reasons after just three weeks of training.
“I'm currently sick as a dog, but otherwise will be just fine,” Ibsen announced on Facebook. “…While I am disappointed at not being able to serve my country through the Reserves, I am very much looking forward to taking an active role once more on the municipal issues that we all care about.”
