Historic El Primero Yacht Returns to Tacoma, Open for Tours

The Foss Waterway Seaport has announced that El Primero will be open for guided tours on Sunday, October 6 at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 pm with admission to the Seaport’s Working Waterfront Maritime Museum.

El Primero, once the bounty in a high stakes Tacoma poker game, has returned to the Tacoma waterfront, and is moored at the Foss Waterway Seaport. Originally a steam yacht, El Primero was considered one of the most luxurious yachts on the West Coast of the United States.

Constructed in San Francisco, California in 1893, it has an exciting history which includes visits by four US Presidents, and a stint in the US Navy during WWII.

In 2010, the yacht was purchased by Christian Lint, Seattle engineer and tug captain. Lint put his talented hand to work and brought her back to life. El Primero powered into Tacoma for the recent Maritime Fest.
