It would have been Marcus Walker's 55th birthday today. He died last year after a courageous and graceful fight with cancer.
The former Lakewood Playhouse Executive Director Marcus Walker continues to be missed by so very many friends, family and theater goers around Puget Sound, which now has a Marcus Walker Way street name in front of the Lakewood Playhouse. The memorial wall is also taking shape nicely.
While he was most active in the Lakewood theater community before his death, he was also known around Tacoma as the go-to guy for all things theater for the region. He was also the husband of Tacoma City Councilwoman Lauren Walker. But also, he was a friend, a dear, gentle, grace-filled, funny friend to so many.
Now Heaven has the best community theater director possible to deal with all those diva angels.
Happy Birthday, Marcus.
