A celebration of Deacon Sam Daniels for his legacy of service to the Tacoma/Pierce County community will be held at Mt. Tahoma High School, in the theater, on March 22 from 6-8 p.m., 4634 S. 74th St.
He will be honored with a proclamation from the Honorable Mayor Marilyn Strickland of the City of Tacoma and Honorable Connie Ladenburg from the Pierce County Council.
Guest speakers on the program paying tribute to Deacon Daniels will include Willie Stewart, a retired school administrator, Lyle Quasim of the Black Collective, former Mayor Harold Moss and his son Damon Daniels.
The public is invited to attend and take part in celebrating and honoring this wonderful man who has contributed so much to the community, to let him know that he is loved and respected and that his labor has not been in vain.
There will be a reception in his honor immediately following this event.
