The circus is coming to town, but not the same old boring circus where you watch some trainer crack his whip at cranky, confused lions. (PETA and Alec Baldwin do not approve.)
We're talking Circus Oz, a.k.a. Australia's National Circus, the cutting-edge performance troupe that will take over Tacoma's Pantages Theatre for three big shows on Feb. 1 and 2. Expect jaw-dropping acrobatic feats, festive tunes and loads of cheeky humor.
A related story will be in this week's City Life section. But before that hits the street, here's a little background from our interview with cast musician Carl Polke who we phoned at his group's Port Melbourne, Australia headquarters on Monday.
