A new direction for 6th Avenue’s GRUV

6th and Proctor’s Gruv Nightclub has recently been taken over by a new management team in response to what owners say has been a problem with less-than-favorable clientele.

New managers of the recently dubbed MetroGruv Karaoke Lounge and Nightclub promise a higher level of service, “something for everyone entertainment,” as well a mission to become 6th Avenue’s first official gay-friendly establishment.

Here is a letter from the owners to usher in the grand-opening week of festivities Aug. 14-20:

Dear Future Valued Customer,

We are the new and improved MetroGruv Karaoke Lounge and Nightclub. Formerly Gruv Nightclub. Now, I know there is much controversy surrounding this bar and its former clientele. Let us start by putting your mind at ease and letting you know that in just three short weeks we have completely shuffled through the old clientele, and on August 14-22 we will be having our grand re-opening and re-launching as 6th Avenue’s destination gay bar. We have already have already soft opening and have had three very successful weekends with absolutely no problems, no noise issues and a much better clientele.

We would really love the see the support of everyone on this as it would secure us as a 6th Avenue destination for a very classy, respectful clientele. (This) week we will have live art, live bands, DJ’s, burlesque, karaoke, theme parties, drag shows, fashion shows and much more… we look forward to seeing you and appreciate the support.

Best regards,
MetroGruv management team
