2011 Tacoma Jazz and Blues Festival happens this Saturday

Free admission, all ages event on three stages

 

Gather up the family and head to downtown Tacoma on Saturday for the 2011 Tacoma Jazz and Blues Festival. Free parking and festival jumping off point are at Freighthouse Square, which is the best place to park and ride the light rail for free back and forth to the other venues. Great food, great jazz and blues in wonderful venues and better than ever, bring your friends! FREE admittance provided by your donations, festival sponsors and all the prestigious participating venues. Enjoy top jazz and blues bands all day long!

 

BLUES STAGE

Presented by the South Sound Blues Association

Located at The Harmon Pub & Brewery

12:30-1:30 p.m.  Blues Buskers

2-3 p.m.  Little Bill and the Bluenotes

3:30-4:30 p.m.  The Harmon All Star Brew: Al Alto, Jumpin’ Josh Violette, Billy Barner, Joe Hendershot, Steve Sarandos and Maia Santell

5-6 p.m.  Jerry Miller and Company

 

BIG BAND STAGE

Located in Freighthouse Square, downstairs in Foss Hall

12:30-1:30 p.m.  Johnny Lewis Big Band

2-3 p.m.  Roadside Attraction

3:30-4:30 p.m.  MOJO Big Band (Meydenbauer’s Outrageous Jazz Orchestra)

 

AFTER FESTIVAL PARTY

Located at The Stonegate

All-ages in downstairs restaurant area, 21 and over in other areas

8-11:30 p.m.  All Ages Blues Jam with Jumpin’ Josh Violette on first floor stage

8-11 p.m.  Rich Wetzel’s Groovin’ Higher Jazz Orchestra with special guests sitting in, on second floor main stage
