With Maritime Fest coming up August. 25 and 26, organizers have launched a delicious new idea to build buzz and excitement for the Festival’s 20th anniversary this year. Starting Aug. 6 and running thru Aug. 12, a clam chowder contest will be underway to find the best recipe in town.
You, the public, are invited to stop in and try each participating restaurant’s clam chowder. Then visit http://www.tacomaweekly.com/chowderchallenge/ to vote for your favorite one.
What could be more in keeping with Pacific Northwest culinary culture than a clam chowder cook-off? And in Tacoma in particular, artfully crafted clam chowder is a featured staple dish at many area restaurants. It’s all part of Tacoma’s heritage as a port city.
Now is your chance to sample some of the best and help win accolades for the restaurant serving it.
