Meet the Beach Babes and raise money for Relay for Life

On June 6 join DJ Omar and Tacoma Relay For Life team Beach Babes at Station 56 (5602 S. Washington St.) for a fun event to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. A $5 donation will be accepted at the door. Awesome ‘80s music will be played from 12-6 p.m., an ‘80s costume contest will be held, and a silent auction will be underway until 5 p.m.

Beach Babes team captains Sarah Conlon and Autumn McClintock, with much help from their teammates, have procured items for the auction such as a Lib Tech snowboard paired with Snoqualmie lift tickets, a two-night stay at beautiful Lake Jolanda Lodge in Leavenworth, an in-studio visit to the BJ Shea Morning Experience and many, many more great items.

The DJ, auction items and venue have all been donated. One hundred percent of proceeds will go directly to the American Cancer Society.

The Beach Babes wish to encourage all cancer survivors to attend. All survivors will be welcomed and celebrated. Survivors will receive information and an opportunity to register for Relay For Life to participate in the leadoff Survivor Lap, Survivor Fair and dinner at Relay For Life’s 25th anniversary on June 12 and 13.

All attendees will have an opportunity to honor cancer survivors and remember those lost to cancer by creating a personalized luminaria in their honor. The luminarias are paper bags decorated to honor a loved one; they will be placed around the Mt. Tahoma High School track at Relay For Life with a lit candle inside. As they burn into the night, they light the way, offering a path of hope for the walkers.
