Arts & Entertainment:  Late September Dogs plays acoustic gig at Hard Rock Café

Whether you’re looking for a new band to discover or if you’re already a fan of Late September Dogs, you’ll want to circle Nov. 9 on your calendar. That’s when the full band, and several special guests, will be performing an acoustic show at Seattle’s Hard Rock Café, and it promises to be a very special experience. Doors open at 8 p.m., $10 cover.

Normally the band travels in hard rock territory when playing live with heavy drums, shredding guitar solos and heavy rhythms, but now is the chance to see and hear another side of this dynamic and entertaining five-piece band that includes Dan Teisan on guitar, Jay Smith on rhythm guitar, Liz Tyson on lead vocals (what a voice!), Lui Williams on drums and Ian Sheridan on bass. They’ll be playing tunes from their previous releases “Anything but Beautiful” (2006) and “Pretty Broken” (2010), a couple cover tunes chosen just for this performance, and two completely new songs the band will be playing live for the first time. Joining them will be talented singer/songwriter Raymond Hayden on keyboard and the renowned Brad Hawkins on cello.

Come and find out why Late September Dogs is called “one of Seattle’s hidden little secrets.” Find them on Facebook, too, where you can listen to some of their well-crafted songs. And keep an eye out for a new CD soon from this Maurice the Fish Records label signee, hopefully this summer. Learn more at http://lateseptemberdogs.com.
