Puget Sound area residents, The TEARS Foundation staff and volunteers will come together to honor the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting with a vigil set for tomorrow.
The candlelight vigil in honor of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Carson Elementary School, 8615 184th St. E., Puyallup, WA 98375.
The vigil will include music, prayer, naming of victims, and a moment of silence to honor the families. Candles will be provided along with green and white ribbons representing Sand Hook’s school colors.
The community that will gather on Wednesday, Dec. 19, to honor the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary is the community that gathered almost a year ago at Carson Elementary School to honor the lives of Charles and Braden Powell. In memory of Charlie and Braden Powell, The TEARS Foundation created the Charlie and Braden project in Washington State and New Jersey hoping to reach out to families who face the tragic, unexpected death of their elementary school aged child (ages 1-12).
Committed to helping grieving families honor the life of their child, The TEARS Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that seeks to compassionately lift the financial and emotional burden from families who have lost a baby, arranged this vigil. The TEARS Foundation is headquartered in Puyallup, WA with local chapters in Washington, New Jersey, New York, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Oklahoma. Across its’ U.S. chapters, The TEARS Foundation is hosting candlelight vigils to honor the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Cards and notes for the families or first responders are being accepted at the vigils, to be delivered by The TEARS Foundation’s east coast chapters. For more details, times and locations, please visit www.thetearsfoundation.org or www.facebook.com/tearsfoundation.
