Jazzbones provides top-notch local and national talent, week in and week out on its newly relit stage; and Saturday was no different at the Sixth Avenue hot spot served up yet another solid lineup. Tacoma act Ben Union headlined with its hard driving progressive pop sound. Dynamic front man Ben Mira, a.k.a. Opening was Poulsbo-based singer-songwriterJames Redfern kicked things off, a guy who describes himself as being "like Maroon 5 meets John Mayer, with hair on its chest." Then Tacoma hip-hop crew, the Breaklites, brought the funk with a setup that included two MCs, a DJ and John McRae on guitar. The band released its latest album, “I ♥ America,” as a free digital download in January. Find it at
