Guest curated by Jack and Claire Nisbet, the exhibit opens at the Washington State History Museum on Saturday, September 21, 2013, and displays Douglas’ journals and observations of Native tribes, rare 19th century botanical books and his original pressed specimens, bird mounts, pelts and skins. The Tacoma Concert Band is proud to present a rare opportunity to see and hear Pat Sheridan, America’s finest tuba virtuoso, in a program that will truly be an “ENTERTAINMENT SPECTACULAR”! Piano, violin, and trumpet soloists are plentiful, but tuba soloists are few and far between, and Pat Sheridan is the best of them. He not only plays his instrument brilliantly, but he entertains his audience with humor and musical hi-jinx. (His dazzling Flight of the Tuba Bee, for example, is not to be missed.) Info:;
