March for a more Peaceful Hilltop - 4:00 pm
Broken Spoke Tacoma, 1014 S MLK Jr Way, Tacoma, WA 98405
On Nov. 5th at around 7 O'Clock. Justin Winter, Mishele Dupree and Nikki Corpsecruncher Weatherhead were attacked by a group of 15-20 young adults simply for refusing a young girl in the group a cigarette some night before. Mishele and Justin were beaten but Justin took the brunt of the attack. He was knocked to the ground by the mob and they took turns stomping his face, breaking his jaw in multiple places. This is a horrible event but it is just one of many. The families and friends of Hilltop and Tacoma need to let violent and careless individuals such as these know that We're Not Going To Take IT! We live here too and you WILL NOT make us scared to walk the streets we call home. If you are a concerned Tacoma resident, join us for a peaceful walk down MLK to show thugs they aren't the only ones that can hit the streets in mobs! Bike riders welcome!! We will begin meeting at The Broken Spoke Tacoma for drinks and rallying and will begin marching/riding around 5. If you have to work, no worries. Join in anytime. Info:

‘Electro Hip-Hop Soul’ by Pretty Lights - 8:00 pm
ShoWare Center, 625 West James Street, Kent, WA 98032
This past July, not one but two new Pretty Lights albums were released: A Color Map of the Sun and its essential companion, Live Studio Sessions From A Color Map of the Sun. The first PL efforts to be sold commercially after a series of acclaimed free-download albums and EPs, the Color Map project represents a turning point in Pretty Lights mastermind Derek Vincent Smith’s artistic growth. A self-professed “sample collage” artist, Smith decided it was time to create his own. “Before, I’d combine 25 samples into one song,” he explains. “This time, I was going to create my own original sources, retaining the timbre that spans the great musical era of the last century – from modern classical and jazz, to ‘60s soul and beyond.” Pretty Lights will perform songs off both of his new albums.
