look inside...Tacoma’s Historic Homes


Tacoma Historical Society will host its annual Historic Homes of Tacoma Tour the weekend of May 2 and 3. The self-guided tour is the society’s signature fundraiser and proceeds go to support its exhibit center at 747 Broadway.

This year’s tour will feature six private residences located in various parts of the North End and three historic buildings. First Presbyterian Church (20 Tacoma Ave. S.) will serve as the Tour Reception Center, and tickets can be purchased there on the day of the tour. Tickets can also be purchased at the following locations:

  • Exhibit Center and Gift Shop, 747 Broadway
  • Pacific Northwest Shop, 2702 N. Proctor St.
  • Columbia Bank Branches: Westgate (N. 21st and Pearl streets), Fircrest (Regents Blvd. and South Mildred Street) and Union Ave. (South 19th Street and Union Avenue)
  • Stadium Thriftway, 618 N. First St.

Ticket price is $20, and includes a tour guidebook. Society members can receive a 25 percent discount off tickets purchases at the society’s exhibit center or through its online form. For additional information call (253) 472-3738 or visit http://www.tacomahistory.org.
