After three years at their 6th Avenue location, Scott and Kristi Martinson have put a dent in the local auto body scene.
The couple moved their business up from the auto-heavy South Tacoma Way to its current spot and has developed a reputation for the shop as North Tacoma’s place to go after a fender bender.
The shop’s growing customer base and referrals could be for many reasons.

Veteran custom mechanic Scott Martinson works in the shop daily with his team of technicians and wife and co-owner Kristi personally walks every customer through the auto-repair process.

And now they are giving their customers, and the environment, even more reason to love them.
6th Ave. Autobody began using eco-friendly water-born paint and new sanding technology that keeps bits of dust, putty, metal and paint out of the air.
“It’s cleaner on cars and cleaner for the environment,” Scott Martinson said. “All of our products, everything is as environmentally-friendly as possible.”
Water-born paint helps create a truer paint job as well, as it will completely match the manufacturer’s color.
“Our goal is to have every car we work on back in its pre-collision condition,” Kristi Martinson said. “We want to provide the highest quality possible.”
In order to do that, technicians use best-repair practices and remove the damaged portion of the automobile to repair or paint the piece, and with Scott Martinson’s eye on all the jobs going through his shop, and what he deems as “the best crew in Tacoma,” quality control is the name of the game.
“I believe our product is genuinely better than most,” he admitted.
