The Tacoma Historical Society (THS) is presenting its 14th annual Historic Homes of Tacoma tour this month on May 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and May 4 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The public is invited to take part in this springtime event, which this year features the city’s historic West End. The tour stops at eight older homes and one church, First Congregational Church at 918 N. Division Ave., which will double as the society’s reception area during both days. There they’ll have photo displays, historical information and other THS materials. This is where you can purchase your tour “ticket,” a small booklet about every home you’ll see and includes a map on how to get there. Souvenir caps and books will also be for sale there, with refreshments available and restroom facilities. This event makes for a great family outing. Proceeds from Historic Homes of Tacoma Tour ticket sales benefit the non-profit society’s Museum Fund. For more information, visit www.info.tacomahistory.org.
